Roughly one month after their 0.80 release, the team at Arrival.Space has pushed out version 0.81 and it’s packed with refinements that deepen creative expression while streamlining space management. This update is all about giving creators more immersive tools and sharper control across devices.
The headline feature this time around is Spatial Sound Entities. Creators can now embed multiple sound sources directly into their scenes, transforming static environments into layered, audio rich experiences. It's really enjoyable and especially nice on larger scenes when you're exploring with multiple people.
Alongside the audio improvements, version 0.81 introduces a brand new Content List, offering a centralized way to manage everything inside a space. This is my favorite new feature, as before you had to click on each item individually. The update also expands flexibility for creators working with 3D models. You can now directly edit splats and manage collision settings for these additional models, giving more precision over how imported content interacts with your space.
Virtual reality got a round of polish too. VR support has been improved, making exploration more stable and immersive. Similarly, Dynamic Gate frames have been refined, helping them better blend with the aesthetic of your scene.
On the interaction side, players will notice a noticeably smoother feel thanks to enhancements in both the Character Physics Model and the Camera System. Movement now feels more responsive and natural, especially important for creators designing walkable or interactive environments. I have noticed larger and larger scenes going into Arrival.Space, so this is a welcome update.
Mobile users haven’t been left behind either. Touch controls have been fine-tuned for a better experience on tablets and phones, and asset picking in Edit Mode is now more accurate and user-friendly.
Finally, Pro users will enjoy improved shadow mapping on splats, which elevates the visual realism of their scenes even further.
Arrival.space has quickly grown into one of my favorite ways to interact with, relive, and tell stories using gaussian splatting. There’s a lot to explore (and hear) in 0.81. Arrival.Space remains free to use.
